Don't Be A Pussy
Don't Be A Pussy
Oil on Canvas with Leather Stitching
46 x 30 inches
2008

This was the origin piece of my vulva series. The title is meant to be ironic. It was a pep-talk to myself to face the fears that I had as a shy person. The idea of creating such bold and provocative paintings felt scary and vulnerable. I would like to reclaim and redefine the word ‘Pussy’ as something that is reflective of all the strength and resilience that lays there.
